Our Journey's Theme Song

Welcome to the Family

This was a song on an album my family listened to growing up and when I heard it again a few years back we decided to TRY to make it our family's theme song especially with our upcoming adoption. We will try to live up to the lyrics.

Welcome to the family,
We're glad that you have come to share your life with us
As we grow in love and may we always be to you,
What God would have us be a family always there,
To be strong and to lean on.

May we learn to love each other more with each new day.
May words of LOVE be on our lips in ev'rything we say.
May the spirit melt our hearts and teach us how to pray,
That we might be a true family...

Tyler's 4th Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Tyler's birthday at Shelley and Jay's house. Ty was excited about getting Justin's old bike. Now he's faster than ever. Becky and Scott are getting excited for the arrival of little Reed. We are planning a baby shower for her at the beginning of August. Sunday night the Giants were on and we were so excited to see cousin Adam #61 playing most of the second half. We are trying to teach Tyler to say "Go Giants" instead of "Go Beavers." Congrats Adam - we're so proud of you!

Michigan Adventure - August 18

JCI had their anual picnic at Michigan Adventureon Tyler's birthday. Justin, Grandma and Grandpa Bultman joined us while Megan played at Shelley's with Natalie. Can you believe that Grandma Bultman went on a roller coaster? We had a great time despite the cooler weather and sprinkles. Justin's favorite was the Mad Mouse because it felt like you were going to fall off the edge of the track.

Binder Zoo - August 15

Grandma and Grandpa Bultman, Shelley, Justin, Natalie, Ryan, Allison, Ryan, Tyler, Megan and I went to Binder Park Zoo. Our favorite was definetely feeding the giraffes!

Our Butterfly Emerges - August 7

The chrysalis became clear and the butterfly was ready to come out. We gathered up lots of books to read while we waited. (We missed the other one coming out.) Every once in a while we would check the chrysalis. Can you believe that we missed it again. We turned around and she was already out. Her wings were still crumpled up, but she was out. We had fun letting her climb on our fingers and then released her in the yard. Ty said her prickly legs tickled.

Ottawa County Fair

Megan, Natalie, Justin, Mark, and Ryan had a great time at the fair. Even the rain couldn't stop us from having a good time.
